Subject: Public Petition for Immediate Widening and Junction Improvement of the Hazardous "Shadnagar Chowrasta" to Prevent Fatalities and Mitigate Chronic Traffic Gridlock
Respected Authorities,
1. We, the residents, commuters, shop owners, and citizens of Shadnagar, Farooq Nagar, and neighbouring localities in the Rangareddy district, submit this formal petition with a profound sense of urgency, grief, and shared civic concern.
2. The Shadnagar Chowrasta (Main Crossroads) has transformed from a bustling commercial transit point into a notorious, high-risk "Death Junction." This crossroad is failing under the weight of exponential traffic growth, severely inadequate road width, zero structural free-left turns, completely absent footpaths for pedestrians, and dangerously tight turning radii for heavy vehicles.
3. Due to Shadnagar's strategic positioning along the National Highway 44 (Hyderabad-Bengaluru Highway), its proximity to the upcoming Regional Ring Road (RRR), expanding industrial corridors, local markets, and the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport influence zone, traffic volume has multiplied tenfold. Daily commuters, school children, emergency vehicles, and commercial multi-axle trucks must navigate a chaotic structural bottleneck every hour.
4. While temporary fixes like paint markers or plastic dividers are occasionally placed, the core engineering defect, the physical widening of the junction grid and comprehensive geometric design improvements, remains totally ignored.
5. Minor inconveniences do not trigger this petition, but by a tragic, recurring loss of innocent human lives. The lack of junction design, combined with unregulated heavy vehicular movement, has turned this intersection into a black spot. July 26, 2025 (Father-Daughter Fatality): In a heart-wrenching incident directly at the Shadnagar Chowrasta, a resident named Machhender and his young college-going daughter, Mythri, were crushed to death. A speeding heavy tanker rammed their motorcycle while Machhender was dropping his daughter off at the bus station for her college commute. Both died on the spot.

6. We acknowledge that the solution requires an inter-departmental approach. We urge the following stakeholders to resolve the current deadlock immediately:
7. Telangana R&B Department (Primary Owner): Holds administrative and budgetary jurisdiction over the primary highway/arterial expansion. We request Hon'ble Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy to fast-track administrative sanctions.
8. Shadnagar Municipality: Responsible for immediate municipal drainage networks, clearing commercial encroachments, building footpaths, and managing local artery inflows under Commissioner.
9. HMDA & District Administration: Critical for aligning the intersection with the Master Plan and fast-tracking emergency land acquisition clearances to remove bottlenecks.
10. Our Unified Demands: Immediate Geometric Design & Widening: Sanction a complete, legally compliant structural widening of the Shadnagar Chowrasta, incorporating dedicated free-left slips, service roads, and physically separated pedestrian pathways within a fixed 6 to 12-month timeline.
11. Emergency Fund Allocation: Allocate special administrative grants under R&B infrastructure budgets or special municipal funds to ensure work is not delayed by financial bureaucracy.
12. Joint Field Inspection: We demand an immediate, transparent Joint Site Inspection by the R&B Department Engineers, Municipal Commissioner, and local MLA Shri K. Shankaraiah within the next 15 days to review the blackspot in person.
13. Heavy Vehicle Regulation: Enforce strict restrictions on multi-axle tankers and commercial dumper vehicles entering the narrow inner market/bus-stand junctions during peak morning and evening school/office hours.
14. Conclusion: Public patience has completely run out. Shadnagar residents have historically submitted representations, organised candlelight vigils, and held peaceful protests, yet the administrative response has been slow. We urge you to view the blood spilt at this junction not as cold statistics, but as an absolute infrastructure failure that requires immediate intervention. Please treat this petition as a life-saving priority.
