John Dropchuk started this petition to Whole Foods

On May 31, 2019 the Target store on Van Dyke Ave. in Sterling Heights, Michigan closed its doors for good.

This area is currently undergoing a bit of a renaissance.  There are construction sites and new businesses opening in the same shopping area. It is within walking distance from several new hotels, the GM Tech Center, a movie multiplex, car dealerships and several new restaurants and businesses (including more new construction that includes a Chipotle, Jersey Mike’s and other businesses).

Macomb County has been eagerly anticipating a WHOLE FOODS location for years and years. While the neighboring metro Detroit area has seen WHOLE FOODS expand and grow, this major part of the tri-county area has been ignored.

WHOLE FOODS is missing out on TWO of the four LARGEST cities in the state of Michigan. Both Warren (population 134,561) and Sterling Heights (population 133,702) would be immediately accessible by WHOLE FOODS using the old Target location. This doesn’t even include the through traffic on Van Dyke as it is a main thoroughfare with a HEAVY TRAFFIC volume.

Nearby is the GM TECH CENTER which employs 21,000+ people and FCA CHRYSLER STERLING STAMPING which employs another 2,300+.

A WHOLE FOODS location in MACOMB COUNTY is overdue. We hope WHOLE FOODS acts quickly and claims this prime location!
