The Issue

For the safety of our community, and our children I feel as though this is a very serious matter that needs to be addressed. We have a pedophile and a rapist living in our community who preys on women, and girls as young as 14 years old. This has been an ongoing issue for at a minimum of 10 years that I am personally aware of. Dayton Seth Koop has worked in cellular sales, pairing our children up with phones, serving us food in restaurants, and distributing narcotics to the people of our community. He poses as different ages on multiple social media accounts such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.
In 2011, Koop was accused of Raping a woman after breaking into her home and climbing through her window. He would not leave and told her “next time will be worse.” The victim reported the incident and nothing was done about it.
In 2015, Dayton Koop was arrested on charges of Possession Of Methamphetimine with intent to distribute. The 2011, rape case was brought back into the open after investigators let it sit for several years. Sam Sanders, a man who ran for Whitfield County School board, and a father himself, was able to give Dayton a plea deal. The rape charge was dropped, and the distribution charge was dropped. He was convicted of Felony Possession of Methamphetimine and was sentenced to 90 days in a Probation Detention Center.
In 2014, Dayton Koop “allegedly” drugged and raped Kayla Carroll at his home. Kayla stated “He drugged me and assaulted me after pretending to be my friend and preying on me for weeks until he had his chance, point blank. I never approached him in such a way besides as a kind friend, he never hit on me, he never told me he had feelings for me. He preyed on me drugged me and raped me. When he was done he told me not to drink any alchohol or I would die and laughed about it in my face. He drugged me in a way that I was unable to move but would come to from time to time being choked knowing what was happening and being tortured in the worst way only to black out again.“ Kayla stated that he had given her a sip of water which contained the drug GHB.
In 2015, I, Molly Marshall was sexually abused by Dayton on numerous occasions. The worst incident occurred when we lived at the Downtown Motor Inn, now the Budgetel in Dalton. I had been under the influence of narcotics and I’m still to this day uncertain as to if he had given me other drugs. I was out of it. I kept falling asleep and waking up and every time I would come to, Dayton was on top of me with his forearm on my throat. I kept trying to get him off and it didn’t work and I would keep falling asleep. He took part of the plastic from a bag of bread, and had put it over an electronic toothbrush and I woke up with no pants on covered in blood and blood on the bed. I hurt for weeks. I was so drugged I could barely move and I was crying. He made me want to die.
In 2018, Dayton Koop was arrested for Possession of Methamphetimine with a 15 year old girl tied up in the backseat of his car. She had been missing for several days and family had been trying to find her. Luckily, a man named Dakota Moss lured Dayton to his home while posing to be a female. The girl was rescued, with thanks to Murray County Sheriffs Department and Gordon County Sheriff’s Department. How he got away with that? You tell me.
Over the course of the past 10 years, he has been accused by NUMEROUS women and minors of sexual assault. Allegations of naked photos being sent to them. Even more allegations of him posing as a 20 year old man, when in fact He will be 37 years old next month. Dayton Koop is a father to 3 children, with which the oldest is 18 years old. Several police reports have been filed, but yet the “loving, Christian, KOOP family” have done nothing but bail him out time after time when he has been arrested. Many minors have stated that he would message them and try to pick them up. He was recently fired from National Restaurant chain located in Dalton for allegations of sexual harassment.
For the sake of our community, we need this man to pay for his crimes. We the victims and survivors deserve justice. Foremost we all need protection from this predator.
