Would you want the place where you live to be destroyed?

Well, this is what is happening to the eastern lowland gorillas in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Phones,tablets,computers. These everyday items that we constantly use are the cause of a devastating problem. They are eliminating the scarce remaince of the habitat in which these gorillas live. 

Coltan, the metal that are found in most of our electrical devices, is detrimental to these poor gorillas lives.

How?

The illegal mines in the DRC that run in the domain of this protected, and critically endangered species, are the root of this everlasting issue. The mining of coltan is ripping through the forest where the gorillas, eat and sleep.  To add to this already tragic problem, Baby gorillas are forcefully taken away and sold to unethical animal buyers. 

Only 5,000 of these gorillas remain. The eastern lowland gorillas are suffering, and if we continue to let this go on this species will wiped of the earth. Would you want that?
