The town of Carlisle is applying for a Complete the Street Grant from the State of Massachusetts, which will be used to expand Carlisle’s sidewalk network.

The town has requested community input on which proposal(s) should be prioritized for this round of grant funding. This petition of Carlisle residents is advocating for the Westford Street Sidewalk Construction 2 Proposal which involves the construction of a new 5' wide sidewalk with roadway curbing along the North side of Westford Street (route 225) from Rockland Road (forestation) as far as funding will allow towards Monroe Hill Road and to Construct ADA ramps and a stripe crosswalk at the Rockland Road.

This would accomplish a longtime town goal outlined in the Master Plan to have sidewalks extend outward from town center ½ mile in all directions.
