Allow students to choose to wear black or silver for graduation
As we all have heard, All students graduating this year at Westerville Central High School are to wear only a black cap and gown.
Previous years have been the regular Silver and Black cap and gowns, this could spark a problem with parent who cannot afford a new cap and gown. Many students wear their older siblings because of the price.
Parents love to spot us in the crowd and take pictures while sitting or waiting to walk the stage but if 400 of us students are wearing the same cap and gown this could be frustrating for parents wanting to see their children's successes.
If we were to let students pick their color cap and gown, people with a different gender identity would now have the option to choose which color they would like reducing any conflict with the separation of the genders.
As a result, Us students should be able to choose what color cap and gown we would like to wear.
