We have been experiencing multiple crimes from house break ins to vehicle theft, and other petty crimes over the past 3 Years.

Our community members of the Watergate Village has worked hard as a United force to make the area a safe haven, conducive for the upbringing of our children, a place where we are free to walk and play, for young and old.

We have managed to reduce crimes in our area rapidly, as we are surrounded by areas that's fallen I'll with crimes in the Mitchell's Plain region.

We the residents of Watergate Village community are against the opening of the road linking Watergate Boulevard and Stinkwood road. This will cause serious traffic congestion as there are one way in and out via the road of the Mitchell's Plain hospital onto AZ Berman that the residents of Watergate Village are using.

This will also lure all types of elements into our community, taxi's and illegal ones to use it as a through fare, disregarding the narrow roads we already have.

If the road opening continues we will be opening ourselves up to uncontrollable crime, unsafe streets, mugging, burglaries, possible murders, rape and kidnapping.

Our current community security initiative is a proven fact of a crime deterrent and how many listed vehicles on the NPS system has been flagged for crimes & other in various other communities, then enter our Village scouting without visiting anyone here.

We appeal to you to listen to our plight.
