Effective February 28, 2016, Westchester Country (NY) took over responsibility from the City of Yonkers for permit requests and bookings for the Turf Fields at Tibbetts Brook Park.  Unfortunately, the new rental prices under Westchester County are dramatically higher.  To give an example, a field which previously cost $65/hour to rent, now costs $165/hour ($100 rental + $65 fee for lights) - a 2.5x increase!

Many organizations who use these fields simply do not have the funds in their budgets to accommodate these new excessive fees.  As a result, sports and recreation programs will suffer.

This price increase by the Westchester County Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation runs counter to their stated Mission Statement, which is "To create life-enriching experiences at safe, clean, affordable parks and preserve our natural resources through responsible leadership.”

Please sign this petition to urge our elected Westchester County officials to reconsider this price increase and return the prices to previous levels.
