Renaissance's traffic in the morning has a one lane area and with Idaho Fine Arts Academy opening up and using that same lane, the traffic is brutal. In the mornings, kids who drive themselves or are driven by a parent get to school late due to the traffic in the area and are given a tardy whereas if people riding on the bus get stuck in traffic they are given a pass. It is unfair to have this much traffic and mark some kids tardy while letting others get passes, so the goal for this petition is to change that so everyone either doesn't get tardies for their first period classes or everyone does get tardies for being late. The other thing with this as well is that if someone gets a tardy everyday due to the amount of traffic build up with no pass then they won't receive credit for that class due to having more tardies than detentions which makes it just as unfair as people getting tardies because the bus was late because in both situations it wasn't in the person's control that they were late. Therefore, it is wrong to mark some people late and let others not get marked down, so it is better to give tardy passes in the first period classes.
