Stop 'Pro-Rape' Roosh V Supporters from meeting in Leeds
The Issue
Roosh V is a self-styled 'neo-masculinist' and pick up artist. He has previously called for rape to be legalised on private property. His website gives details and advice on how men can sleep with women which includes "stop asking for permission".
Roosh V has organised an 'International Meet Up Day' for fellow 'tribesmen' on 6th February 2016. These meetings are scheduled all over the world and there is one scheduled for Leeds, at Millenium Square. Followers are asked to meet between 8pm and 8:20pm before moving on to a yet undecided destination. Followers will greet each other with "Do you know where I could find a pet shop?" and respond with "Yes, it's right here".
These meetings make our cities unsafe for at least half of the population. These are individuals who support a man who advocates the legalisation of rape. It's clear that there is no place for pro-rape hate speech in 2016. These meetings simply exacerbate the effect of such hateful ideas.
For the safety of the citizens of Leeds, groups like this must be stopped. There must be a clear message put forward that Leeds is not a hateful, sexist city- it's quite the opposite!
