Stop the Renaming of Tower Bridge Gateway in West Sacramento

Stop the Renaming of Tower Bridge Gateway in West Sacramento
The Issue
Stop the renaming of Tower Bridge Gateway in West Sacramento without public input. Sign the petition to help keep the current name, or if it is going to be changed, then change it to a historical name. It should not be named after a living person or a former mayor.
The City of West Sacramento has openly violated the Brown Act by passing a resolution renaming the street after the former mayor Christopher Cabaldon. The city manager and former city council member Chris Ledesma spear headed the resolution Oct 2022 and adopted it illegally during the November 2022 city council meeting.
The Brown Act was violated when the resolution that was adopted was different than the proposed resolution. The proposed resolution during the October city council meeting would recognize the former mayor for his contributions. The November resolution that was adopted renamed the Tower Bridge Gateway to Christopher Cabaldon Gateway. The resolution passed without due diligence.
Renaming the street after a living person is in violation of the city's ordinances. The motive for the name change is considered political because the former mayor is a standing commissioner in the city and he would likely use his street name to gain and grant influence. Additionally, at least 75 families would have to change their mailing addresses and driver license as a result of the name change.
Please sign to stop the renaming of the Tower Bridge Gateway. We ask that either leave it be, or name it after something historical. Please attend the next West Sacramento city council meeting to provide your input on the first and third Wednesday of every month at 7pm, or write to the city council by email:
Mayor: mguerrero@cityofwestsacramento.org
Councilmember Orozco: quirinao@cityofwestsacramento.org
Councilmember Early: dawntee@cityofwestsacramento.org
Councilmember Alcala: nalcala@cityofwestsacramento.org
Councilmember Sulpizio: sulpiziov@cityofwestsacramento.org
