Reverse the Decision to Shrink & Move Carmondean Library

Reverse the Decision to Shrink & Move Carmondean Library
The Issue
In February 2018 it was decided without any public consultation to downsize Carmondean Library and move it in with the nearby Ability Centre. But Carmondean Library in its present form is a perfect, wonderful, friendly, spacious and informative resource for the locals. It doesn't need to be moved to a smaller locale but should instead be expanded and developed where it is. Libraries, like woodland, green belts, museums and parks, should be protected for the common good. Everybody in the area knows where Carmondean Library is and would be the worse off for its downsizing and relocation. We would like West Lothian Council to reverse this decision and encourage the council to find other ways to make the library financially viable over the coming years, such as with solar panels to generate electricity, a lower ceiling to save heating bills, or billboard advertising on its outer walls.
