This petition is on behalf of the West Cobb Community and Surrounding Areas regarding concerns over the intersection at Dallas Highway and Midway Road. Just in the past month, there have been 2 terrible accidents at this intersection; one that resulted in a fatality. 

There have multiple accidents at this intersection over the years. It’s extremely dangerous. Countless drivers run the light, turn in front of oncoming traffic, so many do not yield to U-turn, and there are too many near misses…it just goes on and on.

The intersection is awkward to begin with. It has an odd shape and curves causing a blind spot from the South side of Midway heading North, and many drivers will go around turning traffic causing others to swerve or have near misses. This happens daily! It’s scary! It’s dangerous! Drivers are not paying attention or they just don’t care and will run the light or go around others.

Something needs to change ASAP. The lights on Dallas Highway at Old Hamilton/Casteel Roads, The Avenue/Kroger, Due West Road, Bob Cox Road, and so on all have turning arrows with no turning without the arrow. Having turning arrows with no turning without an arrow or on red for all 4 sides would be a big help for sure.

Something has to happen and change needs to be made to this intersection ASAP before more accidents occur and more lives are lost.
