Wesleyan students were recently informed due to COVID-19 that not only are in-person lectures cancelled, but that they have to move all their belongings by March 23rd. In addition to this, all planned events such as graduation are cancelled. This has devastated the Wesleyan community and strongly impacted low-income students. 

Despite all of this, Wesleyan students are expected to resume their rigorous course schedules on March 23rd. Many students at Wesleyan are not able to go back to campus to get their books, belongings, and are returning to different home situations. Many students still need to find a new job to help support their families, watch after younger siblings, and some are completely displaced. Not all of Wesleyan’s professors have even reached out to students. Classes starting so quickly is the last thing these stressed students need to worry about. Please sign this petition in an effort to get the start of classes moved to April 6th to provide Wesleyan students ample time to adjust to their situations.
