Rolling Oaks neighborhood is located in the beautiful Texas Hill Country, in Driftwood, Texas (unincorporated) and is one of Driftwood's oldest.  Our homes sit on large lots which offer peaceful, tranquil country living.   

After a vacant property on Rolling Oaks Drive was being bulldozed and cleared, we learned it is the future sight of Wenty's Beer and Wine Yard.

Wait, what?!??? Whoa.  A bar right smack in the middle of our neighborhood?  Who in the world would think of doing such a thing?  Well, that person is Leslie Wentworth who owns Wenty's Beer and Wine Yard.  She resides in a gorgeous neighborhood in the country in Wimberley, Texas.  Really?

So why doesn't she construct her bar in her own neighborhood? We suspect it has to with land restrictions which Rolling Oaks does not have, or we think we don't have. More on that another time. But a neighborhood is a neighborhood regardless of any restrictions, right?  Cities often have restrictions about building bars close to neighborhoods.  And for GOOD reasons. Folks simply do not want them in their neighborhoods. 

So how many people who live in the country as we do want to live by a noisy bar that will create traffic nightmares? Not many that's for sure. PLEASE SIGN OUR PETITION TO LET LESLIE WENTWORTH know she needs to halt her plans to build Wenty's Beer and Wine Yard, which will be devastating to our neighborhood and quality of life.

I mean Rolling Oaks has exactly one entrance into the neighborhood.  ONE. Our two-lane roads are small, winding, sometimes hilly, and also serve as our local schools' bus routes.  Our children walk home from the bus stops. We take walks and jogs along our roads.  We walk our dogs and ride our bikes. And it's really quiet out here too.

We love the Wildlife who live in Rolling Oaks who we often see from our porches and decks and strolls. Some of us have vegetable gardens ranging from small to huge.  Then there are our Dogs, Cats, Donkeys, Potbellied Pigs, Cows, Horses, Goats, Chickens, Sheep, Turkeys and Ducks.

We want to stop Leslie Wentworth from building Wenty's Beer and Wine Yard in our neighborhood, one which we dearly love and cherish. One we call HOME.
