Wentworth Point Peninsula Park back to the community

Wentworth Point Peninsula Park back to the community
Why this petition matters

LATEST UPDATES: work is underway in the park and no further land has been taken away from the the planned green space so far, in accordance with the original plans. There are currently conversations on the size of development of apartment blocks in the part of the land originally assigned to buildings. We will keep an eye on the work in the park and we hope the result will be a family friendly and lovely park for the community to enjoy. We would consider this a success if that will be the result our petition contributed to. We thank the Lord Mayor of Parramatta Donna Davis for having received us and taken us through the history and the details of the plan for the area. We had absolutely no responses whatsoever from the NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet, despite the responsibility of the park land being under NSW State Government. Thank you everyone, more updates to come!

Our community is united under this petition asking the NSW Premier and the Parramatta Mayor to abandon plans to build two residential towers on Peninsula Park, our last remaining piece of public land in the suburb, and to make a clear commitment.
With 12,703 residents, Wentworth Point is today among the suburbs with the highest density in the Country, and growing by the day. And yet, we have minimum infrastructure and public space.
With a commitment made in 2014, the Peninsula Park was meant to be completed in 2020. To date, it is completely abandoned and unaccessible to the community. Plus, a recently proposed plan sees part of the park being occupied by two new residential towers.
We ask the Parramatta Mayor Donna Davis and the NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet to clearly and openly commit to giving Peninsula Park back to the community, by not allowing the building of the residential towers on the Park, and by building the park in line with the community needs of a public green and recreational space for residents and visitors.
Once we reach 800 signature we will present this petition to the Mayor of Parramatta, Donna Davis, the NSW Premier, Dominic Perrottet, and the Media. If the number of signatures increases later on, we will send the updated list of signatures.
