Palm oil is an ingredient in many everyday products; specifically Wendy's food products. Palm oil grows best in low lying, warm, wet areas. In other words, the rain forest. To make space for the plantations needed to grow palm oil trees, mass deforestation of the rain forest is occurring. Many major fast-food companies (Dunkin Donuts, Subway, McDonalds) have made public committments to only use sustainable palm oil products in their food, Wendy's has not. If we put enough pressure on them, they will have no choice but to vow to do the same, and we will be one step closer to saving the rain forest.
