I am a firm believer that spelling should not count. But in this case, there it is a clear injustice that the spelling of laser is absent of a "Z". Do I really need to go on? 

Lazer is a much more suitable spelling for, as Webster's defines, "a device that utilizes the natural oscillations of atoms or molecules between energy levels for generating a beam of coherent electromagnetic radiation usually in the ultraviolet, visible, or infrared regions of the spectrum"
