We Will Not Be Erased: Stand Against Oppression & Injustice

We Will Not Be Erased: Stand Against Oppression & Injustice
The Issue
Who is impacted?
Millions of Americans, including LGBTQ+ individuals, women, immigrants, and healthcare providers, are directly harmed by policies that strip away their rights, access to healthcare, and ability to live freely. As a gay nursing student, I have personally felt the fear and uncertainty of an administration that prioritizes control over compassion. The reversal of protections has left LGBTQ+ individuals vulnerable to discrimination in employment, healthcare, and housing. Women are being forced into life-threatening pregnancies without options, immigrants are being treated as criminals rather than people seeking safety, and those in need of medical care are being denied treatment based on their identity. These policies have turned our country into a place of fear and division, rather than one that stands for freedom and justice.
What is at stake?
If these harmful policies remain in place, millions will continue to suffer, and the values of democracy, equality, and human rights will be further eroded. LGBTQ+ youth suicide rates will continue to rise as their rights and dignity are stripped away. Women will lose access to life-saving reproductive healthcare, increasing maternal deaths and forcing survivors of rape and abuse into further trauma. Immigrants will be detained, separated from their families, and left in unsafe conditions, treated as enemies rather than human beings. The unchecked power of billionaires and government overreach will continue to threaten personal freedoms, making it clear that rights in this country are no longer guaranteed. If we do not take a stand now, we risk normalizing oppression and losing the very freedoms that define America.
Why is now the time to act?
History has shown that when injustice is allowed to continue, it only grows stronger. Every moment that passes without resistance allows oppression to take deeper root, making it harder to undo the damage. We are already witnessing the devastating effects of policies that erase LGBTQ+ protections, criminalize abortion, and expand government surveillance on marginalized communities. This is no longer a distant threat—it is happening now. The longer we wait, the more lives are lost, the more rights are stripped away, and the harder it becomes to rebuild a nation that values freedom and justice for all. We must act now before it is too late.
What needs to change?
We demand the immediate restoration and protection of LGBTQ+ rights, including safeguards against discrimination in healthcare, employment, and housing. We call for the reinstatement of federal abortion rights to protect women’s health and autonomy. The expansion of government overreach, including the abuse of ICE and the reopening of Guantanamo Bay for immigrants, must end. Billionaires must be held accountable for their influence over national policy, and public health must be guided by science rather than misinformation. Our government must return to its fundamental duty—protecting all its citizens, not just a privileged few. Donald Trump’s continued abuse of power cannot go unchecked.
How can we make it happen?
Change begins when people refuse to stay silent. We must raise awareness, organize, and demand that our elected leaders stand up against these injustices. Our voices must be heard. We must write to Congress, contact our legislators, and demand action from the president. We must protest, march, and make it clear that we will not stand for this abuse of power. Change will not happen unless we demand it. We cannot afford to be passive—we must take action now. Sign this petition to send a clear message: we will not allow our rights to be erased. We must vote for leaders who value equality and democracy, mobilize our communities, and stand united against policies that strip away human dignity. The fight for freedom is not over—we must stand together and stop Trump’s authoritarian agenda before it’s too late.
