Defendant BreAnna Mikula was in court today with Attorney Gary George. Atty George requested an adjournment of the upcoming jury trial stating Breanna has ongoing medical issues of an unpassed kidney stone and will be on Vicodin so she would not be able to participate in a trial or drive a car. He stated Breanna also has a heart condition and other medical conditions. He asked for a delay in the trial date. Judge Stengel set the trial date for October 16, 17, 18. Trial will begin at 8:30 each day. Breanna updated her address. She is now back to living at the scene of the crime. Hopefully the authorities are keeping a close eye to be sure no animals are on the premises and she is not driving a vehicle.
Anthony Keyport pled guilty to a Felony charge of causing Mental Harm to a child. The state accepted his plea. The animal abuse charges were read in and then dropped. Anthony will accept three years probation, 12 months in jail with Huber privileges, and payment of restitution. The sentencing hearing for Keyport is scheduled for October 12, 2018 at 01:30 pm.
Christy Mikula Tuchel was in the courtroom sporting a new haircut and glaring at the courtroom audience. Her minor daughter and parents were in the courtroom with her. Her family members made hand gestures and nasty comments to courtroom observers. After all these family members have heard sitting through her trial, they apparently still don’t understand the truth that Christy is a felon convicted of abusing and killing animals and abusing children.
Attorney George requested the court transcript fees be removed because Christy can not pay for the transcripts. He states he needs them for sentencing and for the motion for a new trial. Judge Stengel said NO to waiving the transcript fees.
Thank you for continuing to support the dogs who survived the horrific abuse at the hands of these people. We continue to remember those who died as we all fight against abuse. We continue to be voices for those who have no voice.
