Sheboygan Animal Rescue
Jun 6, 2018
The trial for Christy Tuchel will begin at 8:30 on Tuesday, June 12th, in Sheboygan County Circuit Court Branch 1.
Please plan to attend this trial! We need to send an message to Christy Tuchel that animal abuse and causing mental harm to a child will not be tolerated.
At the last motion hearing, Christy Tuchel was conveniently ill and not in attendance. This caused the motion hearing to be postponed. Today, Breanna Mikula, her daughter, conveniently had surgery a few days, and was not at the motion hearing. Breanna Mikula's attorney stated that due to her surgery she was not able to stand trial. Hon. Judge Stengel did agree to move the trial for both Breanna Mikula and Anthony Keyport . Court records show trial dates for both August and October 2018.
The motion hearing did not go well for the defendants today. Gary George, attorney for both Christy and Breanna, stated he felt “squeezed” in the courtroom. Gary George argued that mental, emotional, physical and psychological evidence presented by a number of doctors would show that Christy was not capable of committing mental cruelty to child, abuse of the dogs or even standing trial. Gary George was told by Judge Stengel to quit waiting until the last minute to submit evidence. Gary George also attempted to lie to the court about whether or not subpoenas had been issued. The defendants have also not submitted reports to the court which were due on June 4th. Gary George stated that Christy has rights and needs an expert to defend her. Gary George also issued concerned about how the dogs were being cared for by the Sheboygan County Humane Society. He tried to say that by destroying the freezers full of dead, decaying dogs the state had destroyed evidence. Gary George then argued that how do we know there were not less dogs in those freezers. Gary George then tried to argue that Christy and Breanna were denied rights to examine dogs after they were seized. Gary George asked to have the evidence from the freezer eliminated from the trial. Judge Stengel denied request. Gary George complained that live dogs have been lost. The DA stated this is not true.
Christy Tuchel left the courtroom looking a disheveled mess with Anthony Keyport holdly her hand. She walked timidly taking little tiny baby steps as if to appear so sickly. Quite a contrast to the bold brazen behavior she has publicly exhibited prior to this hearing.
Tuesday, June 12th is the day Justice For The Dogs finally begins. If you want to show your concern for these dogs, here is your chance to show your support!
