The Christmas Card is a Hallmark Channel original film written by Joany Kane and directed by Stephen Bridgewater. It was filmed on location in Nevada City, California, and in Park City, Utah, and was released on December 2, 2006.

Since its release in 2006 the movie has become part of those of us who live in Nevada City. The movie also created a "must-see" tourist attraction for those who made The Christmas Card their favorite Christmas movie. We've had visitors who have flown from as far as Australia to our small town in Nevada City because they wanted to see where the Christmas Card was filmed. 

The best part of what transpired with the movie is that Nevada City brought the movie to life. We created a Facebook group that has grown to more than 1,300 people who are dedicated fans and also help to send Christmas cards to those who are serving. 

We do what they did in the movie!!!

Heartillery Group was created by Emily Spencer, whose husband Scott was deployed to Afghanistan three months after their wedding. What began as a simple family act of support and connection has blossomed into an ongoing global campaign with the goal of ensuring no service member feels alone or unappreciated. 

The reason for this petition is we found out that Hallmark is not playing The Christmas Card in July and it's been ranked as Hallmark Channel's highest-ever-rated telecast on the date of its premiere. The network also ranked #1 in Prime Time that day, making it the most-watched telecast on basic cable for the day.

Our Christmas Card group would like Hallmark to play The Christmas Card movie in July so that we can keep "the magic" growing so that more and more people will be reminded of the men and women who serve our country and need to be remembered at Christmas with a card.
