The Issue

I am writing this petition to express concerns about the use of Lexia in schools because many students don't like this app and feel they are not learning much from it.
Lexia has become a widely used educational tool, but there are several reasons why it should be banned in schools, including the amount of stress it causes students to have and the lack of functionality. Students feel as if they are wasting their own time.

Students are experiencing stress, annoyance and hatred for learning because of the way Lexia is implemented in classrooms.
"Rather than helping students develop essential skills, Lexia has been shown to make students sigh at the thought of learning language arts, and the voice, oh that voice is the most annoying thing in the world. It is so slow that  is even further proves Lexia is a waste of time.

One of the main reasons Lexia should be banned is because it does not cater to individual learning styles and preferences.
"Many students have reported that Lexia fails to address their needs and improve their literacy skills.

Research shows that 2,881 people have already signed another petition at the time of writing, this other petition is also for banning Lexia. Some of the comments state that children have been getting sick to the stomach at the though of Lexia; "My child threw up last night because he had to do Lexia" one parent says.

"Many teachers have voiced concerns about Lexia, stating that a teacher gave their opinion saying; "I don't like the way my students don't like Lexia, and I disagree with many ways it teaches them."

Instead of relying on Lexia, I believe that schools should adopt alternative methods such as Khan academy, a free learning platform that I think will fit our community needs much better than Lexia does.
I propose that schools focus on teacher led learning, not computer programs that will waste our students time and eventually end up getting banned anyways like this one will.

I urge you to sign this petition and join me in advocating for the removal of Lexia from schools.
Together, we can ensure that students receive a more meaningful and supportive education, free from the negative effects of Lexia.
