I’ve been thinking over if I should share this as the response is disappointing, but I think it’s important for everyone to know my exchange with HR through email. Hopefully all 180 of us can stay on fire and continue sharing our petition and even sharing our thoughts directly with HR.
Firstly, I want to not only thank everyone for their support but also my amazement at our community working together so quickly! We got to 180 signatures by 2.10.26, that’s only 18 DAYS (this petition was started on 1.23.26). IN DAYS GUYS.
Secondly, Not only have I emailed Pima HR but apparently change.org also emails them once we hit 100 signatures. Which means on 1.29.26 change.org emailed Pima about our petition. If you have time to share your thoughts to Pima Community college through email please do so to drucker2@pima.edu or mstewart43@pima.edu
Here was my interaction with HR on 01.28.29:
(Me to drucker2@pima.edu) Hi David, my name is Hope Hamon. I'm sending this email in regards to the demotion of Skylar Webb as head of department in the automotive building. That decision led to his personal resignation.
If you haven't seen the petition put against him on change.org here is its link. I think this petition has something to do with Webb's decision to put in his resignation. https://www.change.org/p/remove-skylar-webb-as-department-head-at-pima-community-college
I thought, what could I do to reverse this? I'm just a student. But then I thought, why can't I make my own petition and get signatures? Which is what I did. I started this petition on January 23rd, 2026. It's been active for 5 days and is building momentum. https://c.org/jt7BnrL5ZB
If I'm not emailing the correct person at HR with Pima Community college please let me know who and what their email is so I can let them know this is going on in the school. Thank you for your time.
(mstewart43@pima.edu to Me) Good afternoon Hope, Thank you for reaching out and for your concerns regarding Skylar and the Automotive program. I understand this situation may raise questions, and I appreciate you taking the time to connect. In order to respect the privacy of those involved, I am unable to share details related to personnel matters. For this reason and a variety of others, Skylar will no longer serve as a faculty member at the College.
Sincerely, Michele Stewart
(Me to mstewart43@pima.edu) Hi Michele. I appreciate your response but also want to make it known, Im not asking questions about the Skylar Webb situation or asking for details on this matter.
I hope you re-read my first email and understand simply that it was to notify HR of the ripple effect of Skylar Webbs demotion.
Please take the time to full read my email and check out the links. Thank you
(mstewart43@pima.edu to Me) Thank you, Hope.
