The Union City skatepark is a great place for everyone to obviously Skate, Socialize, take our mind off of stress, meet new people, and etc... Now that it is getting darker and daylight saving is about to end(November 7th) we won’t have the opportunity to skate anytime past 6pm or maybe even earlier depending on when it gets dark. Once it gets dark it isn’t safe for anyone to skate, or even just physically be there. It just isn’t really a safe spot to be at in the dark. Many skaters who go to the Union City skatepark go to school and it normally ends at 3-4pm. After school many of us get food and arrive at the skatepark around 4:30pm. Again once daylight saving ends the sun goes down at around 6pm or even earlier. This leaves us barely anytime to skate, and a majority of us wish to skate longer. Some of them have jobs as well and many jobs end during evening time which is likely when it gets dark. This leaves them little to no time to skate. Just like many skateparks in other cities that have light, we think that it would be great if there were lights at the Union City skate park. Please help us add lights by signing this petition.
