Hobart William Smith Colleges President sent out a letter today informing the school that Professor Dean was "relieved of classroom duties." Professor Dean, on her own time, wrote an article about Israel and Palestine attacks. Her words were taken out of context and further marginalizes the group of people on campus who want to speak out with her about the atrocities that Israel has committed. We do not have anti-semetic views but want our opinions to be valued on a campus that "have created spaces for conversation, exchanged ideas, sought common ground, and engaged in dialogue across differences" (Gearan). We want Jodi back and we want our safe space for discussion back.
