We, the undersigned, believe it is time to add a pomegranate emoji to the global keyboard.

Emojis have become a vital part of modern communication, enabling people everywhere to share culture, identity, and emotion through simple, universal symbols.

The pomegranate is a fruit rich with history, symbolism, and meaning:

• Cultural significance: Revered in Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, and Greek mythology.
• Health and lifestyle: A widely recognized “superfood” and staple in diets around the world.
• Global reach: Popular in the Middle East, Asia, Europe, and the Americas.
• Symbolism: Represents abundance, fertility, knowledge, and renewal.

Despite its significance, the pomegranate has no emoji representation — unlike apples, grapes, cherries, and even coconuts. Adding this fruit would honor its deep cultural and global relevance while filling a major gap in the emoji lexicon.

We respectfully call on Unicode and Apple (as well as other platforms) to create and approve a pomegranate emoji.

It’s time for the pomegranate to take its rightful place alongside the fruits we use every day to communicate, celebrate, and connect.
