We write this petition driven by personal experience and deep conviction. I watched helplessly as two close friends and two cherished relatives battled with the severe side effects of X-ray radiotherapy. One of them didn't survive, dying from the after-effects. Their anguish underscored the desperate need for the UK government and NHS to invest in Proton Beam Therapy. This 'new' therapeutic approach could save thousands of lives by providing pinpoint accuracy and drastically reducing the suffering caused by the harmful side-effects typically associated with radiotherapy.

The ONLY downside of Proton Beam Therapy is COST, but we must not forget that MRI, now widely used, was once considered too expensive. The lack of access to this life-saving treatment is heartbreaking and unacceptable. It underlines the urgency for the UK government to step up, prioritize patient lives and invest in Proton Beam Therapy. It’s time to put patients first.
