Mangrove Conservation Awareness and Protection
The Issue
The Sustainable coastal zone protection through mangrove management in Guyana is one success story in effort to support these tropical species of aquatic tree. These Mangroves of Guyana alone are worth about 700 Million USD, manifesting their necessity in being vital for regulating the present climate crisis we're further experiencing as due to CO2 emissions and a lack done by many governments towards emissions reduction. By spreading awareness of Coastal protection acts such as the one in Guyana, we're allowing for the survival of this species of biomass which is second to best in CO2 filtration in the world. We and the rest of the planet depend on these plants for the very oxygen we breath, and also crucial for supporting a gigantic proportion of marine species who depend on this aquatic cover for survival and the tidal control that comes with it. With a higher influx of awareness and donations these recovery programs especially in places unaware of their contribution, such as Canada and many other northern countries who could truly contribute to the increase protection and management as we are a rich country. To act now is for the better of the world that we breath, the land we want to protect and the animals we so distinctively cherish, before we realize its too late.
