We the undersigned,strongly request that all members of the Salton Sea Authority Board of Directors, reiterate that the description “Desert Shores Channel Restoration Project “be used for all past and future descriptions of the Project currently being initiated for the purpose of reintroducing water back into the Channels , ( commonly referred to as the Fingers) in the community of Desert Shores. 
Further, the “Desert Shores Channel Restoration Project “be defined as a “Restoration Project “ with a dust mitigation component to help improve air quality for the residents of Desert Shores.

In addition, we feel it is the responsibility of each of the Salton Sea Authority Board of Directors Members to assume direct oversight of the “Desert Shores Channel Restoration Project “ with the responsibility of ensuring that the Project proceed in a timely manner without delay and to make a separate determination that the funds already allocated are sufficient to complete the “Project” as was initially defined.

The current lack of progress is concerning to members of the Community and a defined plan of action be thoroughly developed by the next Salton Sea Authority Board of Directors Meeting  on March 24, 2024, including a defined plan for sourcing water for the “Desert Shores Project” and the necessary information be supplied to Geo-Logic to finalize the required CEQA study initiated by Imperial County.
