Petition to Remove the "NoMoreCheezeMe" Social Media Page
Stop Online Harassment, Cyberbullying, and Targeted Abuse
We, the undersigned, are asking social media platforms to review and remove the "NoMoreCheezeMe" page for engaging in repeated targeted harassment, cyberbullying, and abusive behavior that goes far beyond sharing public information.
The page may claim to report public records and local events in the Rio Grande Valley, but its content has evolved into targeted ridicule and entertainment at the expense of real people.
While mugshots and criminal charges may be public records, the page's administrator allegedly goes beyond reporting facts by:
Singling out certain women for repeated ridicule.
Giving individuals degrading nicknames.
Searching for and downloading personal Facebook photos, including attractive or suggestive pictures, and reposting them to humiliate people.
Adding commentary intended to shame, mock, and encourage harassment.
When people defend themselves or challenge the page, they are often met with personal attacks that target their:
Character
Mental health
Personal struggles
Daily lives
Past trauma
Instead of encouraging healthy discussion, the page allegedly promotes humiliation and harassment while claiming to support mental health awareness. No one should have their personal hardships used as entertainment or as ammunition against them.
Social media should be a place where people can safely share their challenges, achievements, recovery journeys, and success stories without fear that someone will exploit that information for ridicule or online attacks.
Freedom of speech should never be used as a shield for sustained harassment, intimidation, or abuse.
We respectfully ask social media platforms to investigate the conduct of this page and take appropriate action if it is found to violate their Community Standards regarding harassment, bullying, targeted abuse, and privacy.
Together, we can help create a safer online community where people are treated with dignity and respect.
