We OPPOSE this proposal to merge 3 schools into 1 new St Johns Wood Primary School
The Issue
Who is Affected
St Johns Wood: Local Residents, Businesses, Library, Staff at the schools and their families. Future provision for quality education in our neighborhood.
What is at Stake
Education of 500+ kids.
Robinsfield Infant School, Barrow Hill Junior School & George Eliott primary school (all close to St Johns Wood tube station).
Community Assets. Feel of the high street, these schools provide a huge footfall on a daily basis. More families leaving the area due to unacceptable disruption to their childrens' aged 4-11yrs education. Lack of incentive for people to move here. This is not inline with the FAIRER Westminster strategy.
Why is now the time to Act
They are telling the children and staff that it is happening, but publicly are saying its a proposal. The Governors have not engaged in any way with local residents/businesses/stakeholders that would be directly affected.

The FAQ state:
"What is a ‘Governor-led’ consultation?
A: The Governing Bodies undertake a consultation with the local community, parents/carers and staff.
We will then decide whether to progress to the next stage of the consultation, which is led by the
Local Authority. The Governors very much welcome your views on the proposal. The proposal has
been shared with all staff.
Q: How long is the Governing Bodies consultation?
A: From 2 December 2024 until 24 January 2024. The holidays don’t count towards the required 6-
week consultation period, but you can still send in your responses during this time."
The proposal states implementation by September 2025.
Many of their points are confusing, and show lack of data. They want to close The George Eliott School in 3 years time despite Westminster Council spending £7million in 2012 to open this state of the art facilities.
There are fundamental flaws, lack of planning permissions for what they are promising and lack of transparency.
