Cultures of violence and weaponry destroy lives, tear apart communities and erode civilization.  The time is now to create laws and systems that provide safety for all.

We need our elected officials at all levels of government to immediately seek stricter gun control and reduce violence by:

-banning all assault and assault-style weapons;

-instituting a buyback of assault and assault-style weapons;

-banning large-capacity ammunition magazines;

-requiring universal background checks, including at gun shows;

-creating requirements for trigger locks and safe gun storage;

-requiring microstamping technology on all firearms sold, bought or delivered in order to improve bullet tracing by law enforcement;

-investing in mental-health systems in order to promote well-being among those at risk for committing acts of violence;

-ending the glorification of violence in the entertainment and news industries.
