We need justice, the torturer of the elephant needs to be in jail.

The Issue

These people need to punished for the barbaric act!!!

It broke my heart after reading the news of a pregnant wild elephant dying because she was fed a pineapple stuffed with FIRECRACKERS.

The innocent animal fell victim to an act of human cruelty, as she bit into the pineapple, it exploded in her mouth.

What has happened is inhumane and unacceptable! We can not let these voiceless animals suffer like this anymore. Strict action should be taken against the culprits. I need all of your support, please sign and share my petition.

The Decision Makers

Arif Mohammed Khan
Governor of Kerala
Responded
Dear Citizens, The tragic death of a pregnant elephant in our state, Kerala, has deeply pained and saddened me. This unfortunate incident has upset wildlife lovers and people from all walks of life. It has led to thousands of petitions from Kerala and outside. The public outrage evoked by this shocking event is certainly understandable. I would like to assure everyone that this matter is of utmost priority to us. The Kerala Forest Department has registered a case under the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972 and Kerala Police have registered a case under the Explosives Act, 1884 and the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1960. Two High-Level Special Teams of these departments are investigating the cases. I have already taken up the matter with the State Government, expressing my anguish about this incident. The Government of Kerala is taking adequate and strong actions and those responsible for this abominable act will be brought to justice. Thank you, Arif Mohammed Khan Governor of Kerala
