We have recently gone through a global pandemic that has wiped out many local businesses. The Victorian Government did try to minimise the damage and even to this day still offers many different cash grants as well as free advise and information for business owners, but obviously this was not, and is not enough. Enforcing increased government support for small businesses will help diversify shopping in almost all areas, allow people to peruse their personal dreams, and will even lower the average prices of products.

More support for small businesses from the Victorian Government will help add more variety to almost all types of businesses. I guarantee that when you think of grocery shopping you only think about a small handful of stores. Coles, Woolworths, Aldi, and so on. This is because it is almost impossible for small startups companies to compete with the multi-million dollar giants that dominate almost all markets. Having the Victorian Government offer a larger amount of financial support would help with this by actually giving people a chance to evolve and expand their business rather than just getting immediately stomped out by companies with infinitely higher budgets. This would allow for many different types of the same store to exist, with different products and services aimed towards and perfected for different people.

More government support will help or allow people to achieve and peruse their personal dreams. Almost everyone has thought about starting their own business, and although some do go through with it, many decide against it. This isn't because they've given up on the idea, no, it's because they believe it's both too risky and too difficult to do so. Having the Victorian Government provide both informational and financial support will remove both of these major problems. The financial support will remove the majority of the risk since no one would be throwing their life savings into the business until it's already started and become profitable, and the informational support will offer guidance on what do with the given money, how to advertise your business, and so on. 

More support for small businesses from the Victorian Government will lower the average cost of common products. If you've been to Coles recently (or any other major supermarket) you should notice how outrageous their prices are, yet you still continue to pay them. This is due to a lack of competition. Right now there are only a small handful of supermarkets people buy from, and because people only buy from this small handful it allows the already filthy rich companies to heighten prices and empty peoples wallets because the consumers have no other option. Increased government support for small business will allow many more people to create and expand many different businesses which, of course, will create more competition. More competition will remove the immense amount of power giant companies currently have, and will force them to drastically lower their prices so they constantly have a better deal than the opposition. 

The Victorian Government recently hasn't been offering the best support when it comes to small businesses, with some grants only being given out to people who have seen a 75% decrease in their business. We need our government to offer better support for small businesses because it will help add more variety to bland markets, allow people to achieve their life long dreams, and will even lower prices of common items and products.
