💜 The Power of None: Why Bald Representation Matters
Every day, we’re told the world is becoming more inclusive. But when I lost my hair to alopecia, I realised something painful — bald people, especially bald women and children, are still invisible.

I used to stand in front of mirrors and wonder why no one like me was in magazines, on TV, or in the stories I read as a child. Every ad, every character, every “beauty” campaign — all with hair. It’s not just about appearance. It’s about belonging. Because when you never see yourself represented, you start to believe you don’t belong anywhere.

That silence hurts. It teaches children to hide. It tells women that confidence must be covered up. It whispers that baldness equals illness, weakness, or loss. But it doesn’t. It can mean strength, freedom, resilience, and power.

There are 147 million people worldwide living with alopecia — millions more who are bald from chemotherapy, identity, or cultural choice. Yet when we appear, it’s usually through stories of tragedy or charity. Rarely joy. Rarely power. Rarely normal.

Representation isn’t a luxury — it’s a lifeline. Seeing someone like you in a book, on a billboard, or on a screen tells you: you are not broken. It builds self-worth, it saves mental health, it changes how the world sees difference.

That’s why this movement matters.
We call on fashion brands, children’s publishers, and media creators to do better.
To show bald people as they are — beautiful, confident, and visible.

👗 Put bald models in your shop windows and campaigns — not hidden behind “inspiration” stories.
📚 Write bald children into your books — not as lessons in bravery, but as heroes of adventures.
📺 Cast bald actors and presenters — not for illness roles, but for life.

Because this isn’t about hair.
It’s about identity. About being seen. About the next generation growing up knowing that beauty has no single shape, shade, or strand.

Hair doesn’t define power — we do. 💜🧡
