WE NEED 24 HR VETERINARY CLINICS THAT PROVIDE FIRST AID WITHOUT REGARD TO COST
WE NEED 24 HR VETERINARY CLINICS THAT PROVIDE FIRST AID WITHOUT REGARD TO COST
The Issue
Lets get our local vets together and ask them to agree to some community service. Volunteers would be used to man via rotating schedule, an after hours clinic, where service is provided on the basis of "what the right thing is to do for the animal" rather than an immediate payment stipulation.
In the recent past even release of ownership has been a stipulation of treatment if you need credit. They will actually refuse treatment at the ER exam unless you either pay up front or sign your beloved pet over, permanently. If you love your pet, you have no choice but agree to anything that will relieve the pets agony. Not only that, if you refuse, you are then guilty of neglect or failure to treat the animals wounds and you run the risk of being reported, charged and your pet taken from you anyways. It's a "catch 22". It's very sad but this is often the case. So,
1. Local 24 HR Clinics should be mandatory
2. Payment for first aid should not be a prerequisite for treatment.
