We have started this petition to have our voices heard. We hope that our #PSJAFamily will come together and provide a reasonable solution to this issue we all face. The issue of excess assignments, homework, busy work, projects, etc. - it's affecting our physical, mental and emotional health. Students of all ages are being overwhelmed with unrealistic expectations of assignments. We are expected to be at our computers for 7 hours a day, then another 3 for all the homework we have from college classes. Our teachers are posting 1-3 assignments a day, which translates to about 10-18 assignments per week. Many of us have to do our classwork, sports/dance practice, help our siblings, do our chores, personal hygiene - THERE IS NOT ENOUGH TIME IN THE DAY. Are we allowed to have personal time to do the things we enjoy or recover from the day? We are asking the PSJA ISD school board to set a district-wide cap on the amount of assignments teachers can assign students in remote learning. 12 grades are needed for a grading period, why are we completing 20+ assignments per subject? We need your help. Our health depends on it.
