Dear Friends:

It has been an incredible few weeks for us at the NAR Accountability Project. Every day we are overwhelmed by the amount of sign ups, messages of support, and shared experiences coming through the site. The passion that all of you have for the improvement of our industry and for your fellow agents is truly inspiring.

Your passion keeps us focused and pushing forward.

While real estate may have slight nuances from state to state, we share the same mindset. Since day one, from all 50 states, you have all messaged us the exact same question: How can I get involved?

We are emailing today with an answer.
The day for you to make your big impact has arrived.

On Monday, September 18th, the NAR Accountability Project is launching our nationwide Day of Action.

What does this mean?

First, it means we’re going to be heard. All of us.

To do that, to truly make this the success it can be, we will need every single one of you to participate.

And because we know your schedules are all busy, we’ve made it so that you can be involved by just taking a few minutes out of your day, at your convenience, to participate.

Here’s the plan:

For those in the Chicago area, and those who have said they want to be in person to show support:

We invite you to join us at a 1pm CDT press conference outside the NAR headquarters at 430 N. Michigan Avenue. We have put together an inspiring roster of speakers, many of them Chicago elected officials, and well-known local advocates for change. While we may not have a massive crowd, we are making up for it in strength. Bringing strong local voices directly to NAR is a goal we’re going to achieve

Many of you are outside of Chicago, and your role is just as big:

Linked below is a folder for you to download: The Day of Action Digital Toolkit. In it is the contact information (featuring email addresses and LinkedIn accounts) of all the scheduled speakers for the NAR NXT conference in November.

Download your Day of Action Digital Toolkit here.

There are also two prewritten emails:
-One for the speakers, requesting they withdraw from their speaking slot, or at the very least, speak out publicly as a form of peaceful protest against the rampant sexual harassment and toxic culture in NAR.

-The second is for your local NAR chapter, which serves as a reminder that you are paying dues and paying attention. If you are not sure of how to connect with your chapter, please find the link to the directory HERE or on our website.

These emails are a guide, not a line for line requirement. You are free to use your own script, inject your own ideas, and don’t be afraid to put your own personal touches on the messages.

As a reminder, our in-person efforts and email campaigns are civil and peaceful. We never interject any violence, threats or intimidating language into any of our messaging.

We are an example of the positive changes we wish to see in our industry.

Our Day of Action is intended to help build NAR back up, not tear it down. We believe firmly in NAR and its mission. While the organization has lost its way, we believe that by implementing immediate reforms it can get back to firm footing and serve its members and its mission.

…But it cannot be done without YOUR help

Please let us know if you have any questions.

Let’s get moving!
