We Demand the Immediate Release of Imran Khan and Preservation of His Full Human Rights.

We Demand the Immediate Release of Imran Khan and Preservation of His Full Human Rights.
The Issue
We are all deeply concerned and distressed about the unlawful arrest and detention of Imran Khan, Pakistan's former Prime Minister and cricket star. Despite the judicial declaration about his arrest being illegal, he remains in state captivity under unacceptable conditions. This situation is not only a violation of his human rights but also an affront to democratic principles.
Imran Khan is an influential figure in Pakistani politics and international sports. He is a world cricket star, Oxford University graduate, a philanthropist, human rights activist and a visionary leader concerned about the true freedom of his country with equitable rights and justice for everyone. His contributions to both fields have been significant; as a cricketer, he led Pakistan to its first World Cup victory in 1992. As a Prime Minister from 2018 until his removal from office, he initiated several reforms in just 3.5 years during his government aimed at reducing poverty, improving healthcare and promoting equality and transparency at institutional level in every sector. When he was only a cricketer prior to becoming Prime Minister he dedicated all his personal wealth to build internationally accredited chain of cancer hospitals and research centres in Pakistan and a university for under-privileged students. He is the first Prime Minister who during his tenure initiated an austerity policy to save public funds and minimized his office expenditures to bare minimum.
Imran Khan was the first cricket captain who introduced the concept of neutral umpiring in cricket world to ensure impartiality. His vision for Pakistan is the same to establish justice system in the society at every level and to reform every institution in public and private sector.
His current imprisonment is due to his movement for true freedom against the corrupt politicians and military establishment in Pakistan - a cause that resonates with many citizens who yearn for democracy and justice.
Imran Khan is the man who has challenged the entire corrupt system in Pakistan including politicians, judiciary, civil services, military establishment and their allies. He is the brave leader who has put his life at stake by exposing their mutual interests and gains and has raised awareness among people about their basic human rights.
We urge UK government to leverage its diplomatic relations with Pakistan by ceasing all types of trade deals until Imran Khan is released with preservation of his full human rights. The UK has always championed human rights globally; this situation should be no different.
