PETITION TO

INGQUZA HILL LOCAL MUNICIPALITY
OR TAMBO DISTRICT MUNICIPALITY AND
THE DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SETLEMENT

We the residents of Ward 20 in the Dubana (known as Dlibona) Administrative Area. United in our diversity, hereby petition as a form of demand, these above-mentioned government entities, to meet their obligations to us a citizen of this country.

After having consulted with our Ward 20 Councilor Ms Noncedo Cwecwe, and having held community meeting at KwaNompumelelo Junior Secondary School.

We demand that our community be provided as a matter of urgency the following basic services:

1.    Construction of the entire road infrastructure in the village, which has been neglected for the last 15 years if not more.

2.    Provision of water and sanitation has never been provided to us in the 30 years of this democratic government. We note and acknowledge that there was an attempt during the era of Mayor Ngozi to start water reticulation, but the water taps never yielded any water and they remain white elephants and we therefore demand that this project be resuscitated with immediate effect.

3.    We demand consideration for a housing project (RDP Houses) for our indigent members of our community, the elderly, disabled, Orphans and unemployed youth and all deserving citizens in our administrative area.

We here and now declare that we will reserve our right to vote in the next coming elections. Therefore, expect to receive a formal response from the offices of the mayors of the local municipality, district and head of the Department of Human Settlement within twenty-one days (21) from the date we signed this petition and handed over to our Ward Councilor.
