We are a coalition of Klein ISD parents who came together after 3 separate firearms incidents occurred on our children's campuses in a single week. We are not angry for the sake of being angry. We are mothers & fathers who love this community and believe our children deserve to walk into school every single day without us holding our breath. We have formally demanded action from Klein ISD leadership and our state legislators, and we will not stop showing up until every Klein ISD campus is genuinely, verifiably safe. We, the parents and guardians of students attending Klein Independent School District schools, are signing this petition to formally demand immediate, comprehensive, and verifiableimprovements to school safety across all Klein ISD campuses.

This week, three separate weapons-related incidents occurred on Klein ISD campuses. One student discharged a firearm at Klein Collins High School. An unauthorized adult carrying a firearm entered Zwink Elementary after a security door lapse. A student brought a handgun to Klein High School and displayed it to peers. These are not isolated failures. They are a pattern. A single email sent more than 24 hours later announcing incremental measures is not a safety plan. We demand more. We demand it now.

WE DEMAND:

1. Immediate vestibule security hardening with enforced single-point entry at every campus
2. Daily metal detector screening at secondary campuses; unannounced rotating screening at elementary schools
3. An independent third-party security audit of every Klein ISD campus within 30 days, results made public. We will abide by the principal of INSPECT WHAT YOU EXPECT
4. Real-time parent notification (within 30 minutes) for any weapons incident of unauthorized campus entry
5. A parent-led School Safety Advisory Committee with direct access to the Superintendent and Police Chief
6. Published, measurable safety standards for every campus, with accountability when standards are not met
