The Issue
My 55-year-old Aunt Benita Vickers was killed in a tragic drunk driving accident on August 1, 2025, at 12 AM. She was one of the most kind-hearted individuals you could ever meet. Aunt Benita never drank or did drugs at any point in her life. Her sudden and untimely death has left a void in our family that can never be filled.
Drunk driving is not just an accident; it's a conscious decision made by individuals who disregard the safety of others. It is a choice that costs innocent lives and destroys families. A drunk driver is a killer in a hurry. We must take stronger actions to prevent more families from enduring the pain that we are feeling right now.
Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) has long advocated for stricter laws and responsible behaviors, such as designating a driver. We need to support these initiatives and push for harsher penalties for those who choose to drink and drive.
In honor of Benita Vickers and countless other victims, l urge everyone to take a stand. Support the enforcement of stricter laws and increased public awareness campaigns against drunk driving. Let's work together to ensure that senseless tragedies like this do not continue to happen.
Sign this petition to demand justice for Benita Vickers and advocate for change before another innocent life is lost to a tragic and preventable accident. Help us honor her memory by making our roads safer for everyone.
What does justice mean to me? That the person who did this does not get off Scott free, and that they live with the guilt of what their actions caused.
