**Petition for the Resignation of Jenny Rowlands, Tim Aldridge, and Andrew Maughn from Camden Council Positions**
To: Camden Council
We are Camden families directly impacted by the poor state of Camden Council. We are exhausted by Camden Council's unlawful practices, maladministration, and abusive behaviour. Many disabled children and their families are oppressed and treated with disrespect, and we are tired of being ignored.
We all agree that Tim Aldridge does not show respect and compassion for families with disabled children, and his leadership has worsened conditions for many through gatekeeping of essential services, delays in finalizing EHCPs, unlawful editing of EHCPs, ignoring tribunal orders, instructing staff to practice unlawfully, mistreat residents by blocking their emails and treating them like dirt and not commissioning EHCP education and therapies, he seems to enjoy tormenting families with disabled kids by the way he has treated them and has allowed his staff to treat them, by sanctioning families, giving them the silent treatment if they raise concerns instead of fixing issues and fulfilling his legal obligations. He has also refused to deal with complaints of a very serious nature about about some of his staff's conduct, breaking of GDPR and is committed to misunderstanding, gaslighting and parent blaming families with disabled children for school placement breakdowns, issues with service providers, safeguarding concerns raised and for illegal exclusions. Families have been treated in an inhumane way instead of being supported. Families are ignored until they involve costly solicitors.
Jenny Rowlands, CEO, and Andrew Maughan, Monitoring Officer, fail to hold anyone accountable and ignore emails from desperate residents for months on end.
We, the taxpayers and residents, deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. We will not sit back and be abused. We want our statutory right to complain to be restored and for all LA services to improve. Things have worsened in every department, and there needs to be accountability and improvement. Camden leaders, councillors, and MPs ignore residents, which is why we have resorted to this petition.
Councillors are supposed to be impartial, and there needs to be transparency from the Camden SEN department scrutiny panel. The new head councillor, Richard Olszewski has blocked families without reason, as has Tulip Siddiq mp. This blatant disrespect must end, and Camden staff, cllrs and mps need to adhere to their job descriptions and code of conduct. You are paid to support residents, not abuse them by withholding their rights and ignoring complaints. Why are disabled children being denied their lawful education and therapies? Where is the support for families with children denied social care, and why are housebound disabled adults being refused help?
We, the residents of Camden, urgently call for the resignation of Jenny Rowlands, Tim Aldridge, and Andrew Maughan from their positions within Camden Council. Our request is driven by their failure to perform their duties adequately, follow their own policies, hold their staff accountable, apologise to residents for systematic failures, and address critical issues faced by those seeking assistance.
**Reasons for Resignation:**
1. **Neglect of Resident Complaints:** Complaints from residents have been ignored for extended periods, some lasting up to two years. This negligence has led to trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) due to bullying and neglect, leaving residents without essential services they are legally entitled to receive. This behaviour is both unlawful and abusive.
2. **Denial of Education and Therapy:** Families face severe hardships as their children are denied access to necessary education and therapies. Families are forced to go to tribunal to secure their children's basic rights, and even after securing these rights, Camden Council has failed to fulfill its legal duties. Camden is guilty of maladministration, unjust, unlawful, and oppressive practices.
3. **Misuse of Resources:** The current situation has caused unnecessary suffering to families, jeopardized children's education, and led to the misuse of taxpayer money on legal proceedings rather than improving essential services. These senior leaders have failed in their duty of care towards residents.
4. **Gatekeeping of Social Care Services:** There has been significant gatekeeping of adult and child social care services that residents need.
**Requested Actions:**
1. **Immediate Resignation:** We demand the immediate resignation of Jenny Rowlands, Tim Aldridge, and Andrew Maughan from their positions within Camden Council. Their leadership has worsened conditions, and it is clear they have zero remorse for their failures.
2. **New Leadership:** We call for the appointment of new leadership and a monitoring officer who will fulfill their legal duties, address these urgent issues, end maladministration and unlawful practices ans improve services for all residents.
3. **Investigation and Accountability:** We request an immediate investigation into the conduct of council staff, particularly in the SEN department, to address hostility, disrespect, and misconduct. We seek transparent reporting on the investigation's outcomes, including any disciplinary actions taken.
4. **Training Programs:** We call for the implementation of training programs to educate council staff on proper conduct, including adherence to GDPR regulations and respectful communication with residents.
5. **Accessible Reporting Channels:** We demand the establishment of a clear and accessible channel for residents to report mistreatment or misconduct by council staff, with assurances of confidentiality and protection from retaliation.
6. **Regular Service Review:** We urge for continuous review and evaluation of council services to ensure that residents are treated with dignity, fairness, and professionalism.
We refuse to tolerate any longer the mistreatment and oppression endured under the current leadership. It is time for change, and we demand that our voices be heard and our concerns addressed promptly and effectively.
If you support this call for change and demand better leadership for Camden, please sign this petition.
