Hard news and current affairs are declining in New Zealand. We have seen TVNZ 6 & 7 close down, Closeup, Campbell Live and Third Degree be removed, NZ stories from 60 Minutes not being pursued anymore, high quality journalists leave Native Affairs and Radio New Zealand having to survive under a very long term funding freeze. We as a country need to be well informed in order to have a properly functioning democracy. Our stories need to be told.
