Greetings petition signers, Next Monday, July 2nd at 6:00 pm at the Village Center, the Village Board will have the final say on the rezoning on the Second Street properties owned by Terrence Wall. Despite the Plan Commission recommendation, the Village Board could still approve the rezoning. For everyone who attended or submitted comments for the June 7th meeting, thank you very much for helping the Plan Commission vote unanimously against the rezoning. There were over a hundred people in attendance. However, we need you in attendance again or submitting your comments in another way. This meeting is the MOST CRITICAL in the process so far. We need the trustees to vote no. We can’t let outside business interests win over citizens. Here are the ways to submit comments: Email czellner@waunakee.com with your comments on the rezoning. Please specify T. Wall Rezoning in the subject line. Your comments will be read at the meeting. Print out the comment sheet at this link: https://sites.google.com/view/meeting-comment-sheet/home. There are two sheets per page. The sheet is downloadable so you can share it with others. You can deliver your comment sheet anytime on a business day to Village Hall prior to the meeting. You can go to Village Hall on Friday or Monday and fill out a comment sheet. At the meeting, the linked sheet is printed out for meeting attendees. You can choose to speak (time limit is 3 minutes) or write your comments down. If you plan on attending on the 2nd and writing a long comment, you can type and print them out in advance and staple them to the smaller comment sheet. Even if you just write that you want the trustees to vote no, your comment will be of great assistance to the Board in helping them make their decision. If this rezoning is denied, for now the T. Wall project would be put on hold and it would require major design modifications for it to work on that site. Please attend this meeting if you can do so to show support for downtown residents.
