Greetings petition signers, As you may have heard, Terrence Wall would like to rezone his properties on Second Street from residential to commercial zoning. This would be a major step forward in allowing his project to be completed. Rezoning these properties to the C1-D district is inconsistent with the Comprehensive Plan, as well as the lack of parking and traffic issues if the building is approved. Even if the building is not approved, the new zoning could allow for other incompatible uses in the neighborhood, such as tobacco shops or taverns. The rezoning discussion is scheduled for the Plan Commission meeting this Thursday, June 7th, at 6:00 pm at the Village Center under this agenda item: "Public Hearing and Discussion/Action on Site Plan for Main Street Waunakee LLC/T. Wall, and Rezone of 201, 203, 205, 207, 209 and 211 W. Second Street from R-3D Residential to C-1D Commercial." This meeting is the MOST critical meeting in the Wall project process so far. Even if you do not live in Waunakee (i.e. Westport or Springfield), please attend this meeting if you can do so. You do not have to be a village resident to be present at meetings. Your opinions matter just as much as those of us who do live in town. We need as many people as possible to be in attendance at this meeting. If you are uncomfortable with speaking before the commission, there are sheets available where you can write your comments down.
