Greetings community members, Thanks to all those who attended Monday's meeting. Here's a quick recap for those that could not attend: The Village Board recommended approval of the TIF district including the 2nd Street properties with a 5-1 vote. Several comments were made by community members, but the Village Board did not allow citizens to discuss the Wall project, even though that is what the district expansion into 2nd Street is intended for. The TIF will advance to a Joint Review Board meeting later this month, which would result in final TIF district approval. The project itself has not been approved yet, but it could potentially have been fully prevented if the 2nd Street properties had been removed. The next meeting, a discussion with Mr. Wall about the project itself, will take place tomorrow evening (February 7th) at 6:00 pm at the Village Center. No official action on the project will be taken at the meeting. We will continue to voice our opinions on and opposition of the proposal, and our voices are important. Please keep attending meetings and supporting Joe and Erin for the Village Board to prevent approval of this proposal.
