Your support of this Petition is being sought due to the massive increase in through traffic and the Subsequent Speeding and Poor / Unsociable driving within the Waterhouse Moor , St Andrew’s Meadow , Westfield Estates.

Recently regular Speeds , well in excess of the 30MPH LIMIT, have been observed and we are seeking support for a reduction to 20 MPH.

Speeding vehicles of 45/50MPH are not uncommon and the fastest estimated speed recently was in the region of 65/70MPH, hence the reason for raising this Petition.

This Speed Reduction would add just a few seconds to journeys But, would massively increase Road Safety , as has been seen in many other areas within Harlow.  Also, bearing in mind the close proximity of the 2 schools with many children together with a lot of Older Residents,  using this road.

We have the support of Local and County Councillors and am delighted that we can now include our Local Member of Parliament Robert Halfon MP , who will all be working to Support this Project to help improve Safety for all.

This Petition is a follow up to the recent letters sent to Residents by Essex County Council outlining the plans for this Speed Reduction initiative.
