Few kilometres from the India-Pakistan border, people in Barmer district of the western state of Rajasthan face extreme water shortage. In scorching heat, women in this desert area spend several hours fetching water from the nearest wells. The irony is, where in 21st century everyone talks about 5G internet, AI and traveling to the Moon & Mars, but on the other hand, people of Barmer don’t even have access to their basic necessities. i.e. drinkable water. 

Women of Barmer walk miles and miles just in hope to fetch some drinkable water from the wells, which they even know have the water left in them or not. This makes them (specifically the women of Barmer region) prone to severe health consequences such as rapid aging, yellow teething, uterine prolapse etc. The cattle & animals are drinking contaminated and salty water. The only LUNI river, which was a blessing for these people, is now extremely polluted by the industrialisation that even cattle & animals  now don’t drink that water. 

Government comes and goes, but none of them really does anything concrete to solve the water crisis in Barmer. 
So lets act now & come together to help people of Barmer to get their rights to have drinkable water.
